Calgary Celiac Teens Initiative
Teens living with celiac disease often face unique challenges that can be overlooked. From navigating school cafeterias and social events to managing independence, peer pressure, and mental health, the teenage years can make strict gluten-free living especially complex. This stage of life is also when many youth begin taking more responsibility for their own health, yet support and resources specifically designed for teens are limited.
Our Teens Initiative aims to better understand, support, and connect youth with celiac disease across our community. By creating age-appropriate resources, peer connection opportunities, and educational supports, we hope to ensure teens feel seen, empowered, and confident managing their gluten-free lifestyle.
We invite teens and their families to complete the survey below to help us identify needs, interests, and gaps in support so we can develop meaningful programming that truly reflects their experiences.
